My contract with AT&T expires this summer, and I am torn between which new iphone 4 covers I should get next. I currently have an iPhone 3GS. So I am considering the iPhone 4S or even the iPhone 5 when it's eventually announced. But the new Android Ice Cream Sandwich phones look really appealing to me, especially the Samsung Galaxy S III and the HTC One X. So which one do you think I should get? Should I ditch Apple for Android?

Dear Tempted by Android,
This is a tough question. For one, the iPhone 4S Cases was only announced this week. It won't go on sale in Europe until the end of the month. And it won't be available in the U.S. until this summer. What's more Samsung has not said exactly which carriers will get it first or even what the final specs will look like on the U.S. version of the device. And we still don't know the pricing for the phone here in the U.S.
As for Apple, it's also unclear when it will introduce the new Best iPhone 4 Case . Some people speculate it could be announced in June, as Apple has done with previous iPhone launches. But since the iPhone 4S was only announced in October, many believe that Apple has shifted the cycle slightly and the new device will be available in the fall. Since that device hasn't even been announced yet, there's no way to even try comparing it to either of the new Google Android Ice Cream Sandwich devices.
So what should you do?
Well the good news is that you have a little bit of time. You said your contract with AT&T doesn't expire until the summer. By that point, we should know where the Samsung Galaxy S III will be available in the U.S., and whether any of the specs have changed. We'll also have pricing information.
Also by summer, we will have a better handle on when Apple will announce its next product. Who wants an iPhone4 cases ?

Rumors of an iPhone 4S Cases have been floating around for a while. How many people would actually buy one?
Asked if they'd pick up a Best iPhone 4 Cases that cost between $249 and $300, a full 52 percent of those polled by shopping site PriceGrabber said yes. (What do you think? Take our poll!)
Doing the math, that means 48 percent aren't interested. But delving further, only 22 percent of all those surveyed currently own a tablet. Among those, 68 percent have an iphone 4 covers or Best iPhone 4 Case , while 10 percent own Amazon's Kindle Fire.
Why would half of those polled want a smaller iPad? The answers varied, with many people citing more than one reason.
A leading 64 percent pointed to the lower price compared to an iPad or iPad 2. Next, 54 percent said the smaller size would make the tablet more portable. A quarter of potential buyers said they'd pick it up as a gift. Some would buy it for work. And others would grab it just because they "love Apple products and always buy the company's latest and greatest products."
Among the features deemed most important in Designer iPhone 4 Case , the lower price was named by 84 percent. 3G connectivity was touted by 65 percent. The smaller size and an ultra thin body were each named by 60 percent. Other factors cited included the Retina display, Siri support, a unique and new design, and the belief that an iPad mini would be launched with iOS 6.

Apple responded today to criticism that the company goes to great lengths to cut its global Best iPhone 4 Cases tax bill by billions of dollars every year, trumpeting the "incredible number of jobs" it has created.

The statement was in response to an in-depth report published yesterday by The New York Times that depicted Apple as a pioneer in developing ways to Designer

A U.S. congressman and an Internet privacy group are calling for further scrutiny of Google's Street View street-mapping service, which collected and stored iphone 4 covers from unencrypted wireless networks.

Google's Street View cars, which were supposed to collect the locations of Wi-Fi access iPhone 4S Cases , also inadvertently collected data about people's online activities from unsecured Wi-Fi networks for four years.

"The circumstances surrounding Google's surreptitious siphoning of personal information leave many unanswered questions," Rep. Edward J. Markey, a Massachusetts Democrat, said in a statement today. "I believe Congress should immediately hold a hearing to get to the bottom of this serious situation."

Well, that was an exciting ride, but the end was pretty much as expected. Apple started their "Antennagate” press conference with the anticipated pomp and circumstance. Ultimately though, it all boiled down to giving away Designer iPhone 4s Case .

So here’s how it will work: next week, the Apple website will be set up to handle claims from folks who already bought an iPhone 4. You can either get a Best iPhone 4 Cases or iPhone 4S Cases if supply is not available (selection not yet specified). If you already bought a Best iPhone 4 Case , you’ll get a refund.

Interestingly, the offer only extends to every iPhone 4 purchased through September 30. They say they’ll "re-evaluate” the situation by then, perhaps switching to another case. Hacking Wi-Fi networks with the Pineapple Mark IV honeypot-Cases for iphone 4

Thousands of SXSW attendees with lots of social-media moxie but little to no security savvy were easy prey for a hacker like Kitchen. The interface he was using on his Galaxy Note smartphone showed a long list of BlackBerrys, iPhones, Androids, and laptops that thought they were connecting to the hotel or Starbucks Wi-Fi (which uses the name "attwifi"), but were actually being tricked by Kitchen's WiFi Pineapple. "Nobody has any sense of security here," he said, scrolling through the list of devices connected to his Wi-Fi router.

If he wanted to, Kitchen could do something malicious, like a man-in-the-middle attack, and steal passwords and other data from unwitting victims. But his mission is to educate people by demonstrating what the risks are and not attack them. So his device was programmed to replace every Web page on the Internet with a Nyan Cat.

"When the device is kicked off it tries to get back on the network, and since I'm in closer proximity than the Wi-Fi router, it picks up my signal instead," Kitchen said. "In the demo I had half the audience connected to my Wi-Fi router."

Basically, his WiFi Pineapple is what is known as a "Hot-spot Honeypot" that attracts the devices looking to connect to Wi-Fi. The devices send out probe requests when the user turns the Wi-Fi on or turns on the device, and then Wi-Fi is automatically enabled. The messages are asking for a connection from a list of Wi-Fi networks that the device has remembered. Kitchen's router pretends to be the Wi-Fi network the user's device is seeking. This only works with an open Wi-Fi network, not one that's protected with the WPA encryption standard, which requires users to type in a password to connect. "It's an inherent flaw in the trust model of open Wi-Fi," he said.

Prototype software on his laptop was doing something similar with Wi-Fi connections, only the messages it was sending were de-authorization packets to interfere with the current Wi-Fi connection by saying the security equivalent of "this is not the Wi-Fi router you are looking for."
The problem is that the devices are set to automatically remember networks they've connected to in the past and it reconnects automatically when in range. "The security is in the way vendors implement it and all they care about is network name," Kitchen said. The solution would be requiring a challenge and response protocol for authentication and encryption, he said. But the mobile device makers haven't implemented that, probably because users would need to make a few more clicks to get on the network, he added.Best iPad 3 case

The iPad 3 release will follow the March 7, 2012 announcement in San Francisco, and there's talk of the iPad 3 also being an iPad HD. They're looking at the Retina Display idea to back the idea of new iPad 3 features with HD Video, and maybe the name of it won't be the iPad 3 but rather iPad HD. The iPad 3 price / iPad HD price could go for about $75 more than the current iPad, according to MacRumors.
The story as posted in Digitimes said "The planned launch of the 7.85-inch iPad is apparently to take on Amazon's US$199 7-inch Kindle Fire as well as a comparable model from Barnes & Noble, although Apple already took up nearly a 60% share of the tablet PC market in 2011, indicated the sources." Both 9to5Mac and the Wall Street Journal have mentioned this in the past, and MacRumors has too, and it has been on Spacelab as the iPad Mini. The iPad Mini could go for a price around $249 - $299 as rumored by various online news reports, and an iPad Mini release date is rumored for the fourth quarter of 2012.

An alleged leaked inventory shows the name iPad HD, hinting Apple could choose the moniker to big up the device's retina display. It would make sense from a marketing point of view. And marketing isn't exactly Apple's weak point.

Despite Apple being legendarily closely guarded about its product name and specs prior to launch, some manufacturers are tipped off just before the big day. With the next iPad event just five days away, Apple may have warned case makers so they can have products ready for launch.

The retina display is thought to be the big selling point of the new iPad. With a purported resolution of 2,048x1,536-pixels, it promises to boast ridiculously bright colours and amazingly sharp edges.

A couple of weeks ago someone got their hands on the purported retina display, got the microscope out, and zoomed right in, showing it should have twice the resolution of the current iPad 2. Sadly there was no way to power it up to see for ourselves, but give it a few days and we'll know either way.

The screen is thought to be the same 9.7 inches as the current iPad, so the dimensions of the device shouldn't change much. But Apple might have a smaller version waiting in the wings -- yesterday news leaked of a 7.85-inch iPad due in the autumn.

This backs up previous rumours that it'll have the same resolution as the iPad 2, so apps will work without developers having to tweak them. Apple may also slash the price of the iPad 2 next week to cut off competition from the Amazon Kindle Fire. We could also see an updated Apple TV. Just not the one we all want to see, unfortunately. Microsoft attempted to kibosh the news surrounding its Microsoft Office app for the iPad started byThe Daily earlier today. It told The New York Times: Chanel iPhone 4 Case|Chanel iPhone 4S Case

A Microsoft spokesperson said the screen shot accompanying The Daily’s story is not a picture of a real Microsoft software product. But the spokesperson also said Microsoft is declining to comment as to whether or not the company has developed a version of Office for the iPad and/or when such a product may come to market.

Twitter updated its iOS app with long overdue usability enhancements and a host of little improvements and bug fixes. Twitter for iOS version 4.1, a free download from the App Store, brought back the handy swipe shortcut. Just swipe a tweet in your home timeline to reply, retweet, favorite or share it, or view the Twitter user’s profile without leaving your timeline. When checking someone’s profile, the app will finally tell you whether that person is following you and people search results has gained verified badges. Apple’s Cook invited to talk cancer and corporate America at NCCN Annual Conference

Apple’s Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook was invited to take part in a roundtable discussion at the National Comprehensive Cancer Network’s annual conference on clinical practice guidelines and quality cancer care. This year’s agenda centers around the topic of "Cancer and Corporate America: Business as Usual?” The five-day discussion begins March 15 in Hollywood, Fla., and ABC News anchor Sam Donaldson will moderate it. The NCNN website listed Cook as an invitee, but there is no guarantee that Apple’s CEO will participate. The fact that a reputable organization invited him means Cook was informed of the conference in advance. A history of late Steve Jobs’ illness gives some hope that Cook will contribute to the discussion. Other invites include doctors, cancer survivors, and other corporate figures, including IBM’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources J. So, you got a new iPhone 4S for Christmas? Good choice. Give whoever bought you it a big sloppy kiss. So what do you do with it now, other than sit and stare at its beautiful lines? Here's what.

Talk to it

You might risk some unusual glances from those around you, but the single biggest addition to the iPhone 4S is the ability to ask it a question. It's called Siri, and all you have to do is hold down the home button until you hear a chime. Then, just speak away.

Tell it to wake you up at a certain time tomorrow morning, tell it to send a text to someone - then dictate the message - or ask it how far away Edinburgh is. Siri can understand naturalistic language, so don't fret about formalising your delivery.

Set up iCloud

It can be a real pain keeping all your data synced across multiple devices, so we'd recommend activating iCloud on your iPhone 4S as soon as you can. One of the things iCloud does is to store all your contacts online, so if you were to break or lose your handset they wouldn't all be lost.

It also does the same for your photos, automatically uploading them to the Apple servers when your iPhone is charging and connected via Wi-Fi. This makes viewing them on your MacBook super-easy - no syncing required.

Any music you've purchased on iTunes will also be available to download on your new device, and soon enough you'll even be able to sync any music stored on your computer - whether bought through iTunes or not - with your iTunes account.

Play a game

Did you know that the iPhone was the hottest portable gaming system around? The App Store is packed full of thousands of gaming apps - most of which won't even cost you a pound.

These aren't just simplistic time wasters either - although there are plenty of those if that's what you want. The likes of Infinity Blade and Real Racing 2 are incredibly involving games with console-like graphics and gameplay.

If you haven't tried gaming on the iPhone yet, give it a shot. The process of buying games is just like buying tracks on iTunes - just go to the Apps section and look for the latest games.

Customise through apps

Some people say that the iPhone isn't flexible enough, but the true scope for customisation is hidden in plain sight. We're talking about apps.

There are over 500,000 apps available on the Apple App Store, and the vast majority are ridiculously cheap or even free. They allow you to do all kinds of things, from staying up to date with your Facebook profile to checking the latest BBC news, or even using your iPhone 4S as a spirit level.
